Active Citizen, Your Voices Heard Loud and Clear! πŸ“’

β€œAs citizens become more educated and aware; data becomes cheaper and more people can get online, more Nigerians will find their voices.β€œ

β€˜Yemi Adamolekun

(Executive Director, EiE Nigeria)

Dear Active Citizen,

It's that time of the week when we gather round the digital campfire to share the latest buzz on citizen engagement in Nigeria.🌟

πŸ‘₯Β Connecting with Your National Assembly Members

Many of you awesome folks reached out, eager to connect with your National Assembly members. We directed you to the SYE website, your trusty sidekick for all things civic. πŸ¦Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ¦Έβ€β™‚οΈ

The good news? We already have information from 30 states! 🌟 But we need YOUR help to validate and crowdsource info from the rest. Let's make sure everyone's voice is heard!

πŸ™Œ Kudos for Citizens' Engagement! πŸ™Œ

A big shoutout to all of you who commended the awesome work we're doing and expressed your enthusiasm for engaging with your representatives. It's heartwarming to see citizens taking an active role in shaping our democracy. Keep those messages coming; you inspire us!

πŸ’Ό Palliatives with a Twist! πŸ’Ό

One of our community members had a brilliant suggestion for distributing palliatives using both bankable and unbankable channels. Innovative thinking at its finest! We're all ears for creative ideas like this that can make a real impact.

πŸ” Tracking Progress in Edo State! πŸ”

From Edo State, a concerned citizen reached out to their Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Osarodion Ogie seeking clarification on the distribution of palliatives. Our dedicated team is on the case, actively following up to track progress and ensure transparency.

πŸ”Ž SERAP's Call for Accountability! πŸ”Ž

In other news, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has taken a bold step by asking all 36 state governors to disclose details on the spending of the N2 billion palliative recently disbursed by the Federal Government. We're all about transparency and accountability, and we're keeping a close eye on this development!
