““Christmas is a commemoration that connects the world to love, selflessness, sacrifice and solidarity; which are the virtues that Christ unambiguously propagated."- Goodluck Jonathan(Former President of Nigeria)

Dear Friend,What a year it has been! These 12 months demanded so much from us in order to stay afloat the wave of intolerable maladministration whilst seeking closure, justice and emotional stability. Nigeria has been rife with numerous challenges—insecurity, inflation, #TwitterBan, police brutality and even navigating COVID-19.More recent activities such as President Buhari's refusal to sign the Electoral Act Amendment Bill on day 31, when the law requires a response within 30 days speaks volumes about his respect for the rule of law. However, we have not given up on our dear country. We are weathering the storm together. Kudos!

As an organisation committed to ensuring good governance and active citizen engagement, we continued to amplify the power inherent in the #OfficeOfTheCitizen with our various projects which include: #myLGA, Shine Your Eye, #ThursdayTalks, radio programmes on #EndSARS and updates on the Judicial Panels of Inquiry, COVID-19, MissingInNG, debates, public interest litigations, to mention but few. Our 2021 impact in numbers, which captures all our activities in detail, will be shared before the end of January 2022.We also have exciting events scheduled for 2022 as we celebrate our 12th anniversary! Stay updated via our newsletters and social media platforms on @eienigeria.

It's the season to give so consider making a donation to keep our nationwide projects and initiatives going. Thank you!

COVID-19 is Real!

In the past week, Nigeria has recorded over 7,700 confirmed cases of COVID-19. As of December 14, 2021, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed 11 cases of the new Omicron variant in the country. The Omicron variant is a source of global concern because of its increased risk of transmissibility and its potential to escape protective immune responses induced by natural infection and/or vaccination.

This festive season, adherence to all non-pharmaceutical preventive measures of COVID-19 will help to curb the spread of the virus.#CelebrateResponsibly✅Wash your hands with soap under running water.✅Wear your face mask properly.✅Maintain a distance of 2 metres from the person next to you.
