Every month, billions of naira are sent to Local Governments across Nigeria to improve our schools, hospitals, roads, and public services. But look around—does it feel like that money is being put to good use? Are your streets cleaner? Are your primary healthcare centres well-stocked? Are your community projects progressing?

In December 2024, Local Governments across Nigeria received massive funds. Shomolu LGA got N1.7 billion, Surulere received N1.7 billion, Kosofe was allocated N1.9 billion, Lagos Mainland got N1.6 billion, and Ikorodu collected N1.8 billion. And that’s just Lagos! Imagine what’s happening across the 774 LGAs in Nigeria.

But knowing isn’t enough! Your leaders should be accountable to you. That’s why we’re making it easier for you to engage your Local Government Chairman. On shineyoureye.org, we have contact information for LGA Chairmen in 15 states, and we’re actively updating the list.
