Dear Active Citizen,

As we enter the new year, we are excited to continue our work promoting democracy, citizen engagement and supporting credible elections. Last year was tumultuous, and we are grateful for your support as we navigated the challenges and fought for the values that we hold dear.

Looking back on the past year, we are proud of the progress that we made. Some of our highlights include:

  • Osun Governorship Debate with Arise TV. 

  • Osun radio governorship dialogue.

  • CVR observation in 6 states, 21 LGAs.

  • CVR Helpdesk in 8 states and the FCT. 161 unique volunteers assisted 8,429 citizens to resolve CVR issues.

  • Soft launch of the OOTC WhatsApp Bot.

  • Expanded local government data on Shine Your Eye (SYE) to include data on LG Chairmen in Niger and Yobe states.

  • Our ED, 'Yemi Adamolekun announced as one of the winners of the Global Citizen Prize 2022.

  • EiE’s 12th Anniversary Symposium - On Debates and Democracy.

  • The Electorate - Conversation with the INEC Chairman - co-hosted with Yiaga Africa, CJID, The Electoral College, The Election Hub and GOAL.

  • 4th Edition of the New Media, Citizens and Governance Conference co-hosted with BudgIT & PIN.

  • Launched FootprintsPast. Present. Future.

Pickup Your PVC Today!

This is a year to fully occupy the #OfficeOfTheCitizen as you consciously exercise your rights and responsibilities in ensuring that those who are elected and appointed to serve are persons of integrity.Therefore, you must  do the following:

  • Exercise your right to RSVP - Register to vote| Select credible candidates| Vote not fight| Protect your vote.

  • Stay involved in your respective communities and encourage others to show up and vote wisely on election day.

  • Volunteer your time and resources to amplify messages that foster democratic consciousness.

The Office Of The Citizen is fully maximised when you have your PVC. So, if you are yet to pick up your PVC, please visit your Registration Areas/Wards, 9am-3pm daily (including Saturdays, Sundays & public holidays) from Friday, January 6th to Sunday, January 15th, 2023.

From January 16th, the exercise will revert to the INEC Local Government Offices until January 22nd.
