2nd Ikorodu Legislative Debate
As part of our efforts at ensuring active citizens' participation in local governance, we supported
R.E.A.L.
Initiatives and the Concerned Ikorodu Division Youth (CIDY
) to host the
2nd Ikorodu Division Legislative Debate
on
Sunday, Jan 21st.
Electorates in Ikorodu had the opportunity to listen to the candidates from
AA, AAC, APC, ADC and NNPP
vying for the two seats in the Lagos State House of Assembly and the sole Ikorodu Federal Constituency seat in the National Assembly, as they presented their agenda.
While eight Assembly candidates out of 22 for both Ikorodu Constituency I and Il attended the debate, only one candidate for the House of Representatives turned up out of the eight cleared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Yiaga Africa together with its partners launched its Election Manipulation Risk Index (EMRI). The EMRI highlights states where election manipulation occurs & ranks states based on the prevalence of election manipulation indicators divided into three categories: High Risk, Medium Risk, and Low-Risk states.
