Dear Active Citizen,Yesterday, we hosted our 12th year anniversary symposium titled 'On Debates & Democracy' at the Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja. The hybrid event featured a media panel and a debate panel that had in attendance the 'most debated ' Nigerian politician of our time, Babatunde Raji Fashola.

The keynote speaker, Janet Brown, the Executive Director of the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD), reiterated the importance of debates, particularly because it presents a level-playing ground for all candidates, and more importantly because it allows citizens to understand each candidate's plan and ask pertinent questions.Jumoke Oduwole, the Special Adviser to the President on Ease to do Business, noted that political debates are like job interviews and persons who want to contest elections must show up and be well-prepared to tell the electorates how they intend to govern, if elected.Missed it? The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the final lap of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will begin on Monday, April 11, 2022.
