“Our greatest challenge to national security is the ideathat anyone can get away with anything.”- Chidi Odinkalu(Lawyer & Human Rights Activist)

Dear Active Citizen,Nigeria is faced with an unprecedented wave of different security crises - from kidnapping to terrorism - almost every corner of the country has been hit by violence and crime. When President Muhammadu Buhari was elected in 2015, he promised to protect citizens from terrorists and criminals. But there is less than a year left of his final term in office and the country is more unstable than it's been in decades.Who will secure our lives? 😞

No More Excuses!

Mary Dauda and Hauwa Joseph

, two of the abducted #ChibokGirls who

, have revealed that more than

20 missing girls abducted from Chibok in Borno in 2014

are still in Gazuwa camp in Sambisa Forest, eight years after being kidnapped by Boko Haram insurgents.

Mary and Hauwa’s experiences are quite sad; abducted as teens, forced to marry Boko Haram fighters and bore them children at a tender age.

We will keep mounting pressure on the Nigerian government to explore all available means to rescue the remaining Chibok Girls, Leah Sharibu and other abductees.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has announced it will continue the

and directed all Electoral Commissioners to

continue the exercise pending further directives

. INEC disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday, June 30.

Have a great month! The EiE Nigeria Team
