Friday, August 12, 2022

“Our children may learn about the heroes of the past. Our task is to make ourselves architects of the future.”

Jomo Kenyatta

(Former Kenyan President)

Dear ,As we celebrate International Youth Day today, we continue to stand in solidarity with the Nigerian students kicked out of their universities 179 days ago over the government’s failure to prioritize tertiary education in Nigeria.

Last week, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, asked parents to beg ASUU to call off their strike. If the Federal Government is asking us to do their jobs for them, who exactly have we put in charge?

Elections are 6 months away - we hope students and their parents will pay attention to manifestos and vote wisely!#EndASUUStrikeNow

How Did We Get Here?

Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has disclosed that the country loses about $2 billion monthly to the activities of oil vandals. At the moment, Nigeria hardly meets the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) production quota. Oil vandalization reflects the insecurity in the country & our struggling economy.Mr President is Commander-in-Chief and Minister of Petroleum Resources.Elections are 6 months away - we hope we will pay attention to manifestos!
