#NoJusticeNoToll

“If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.”

Dear Active Citizen

,

We have started a petition to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to halt his decision to commence toll collection from  Saturday, April 16, 2022, and to make public the White Paper on the Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Police Brutality and the implementation plan for the recommendations.

Moving on with business as usual on the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge provides a false sense of closure on the Lekki Massacre. This is against the backdrop of the country’s socio-economic realities with rising unemployment and inflation.

Victory for Nigerian Women

On Wednesday, April 6, 2022, Nigerian women won a landmark judgement against the federal government to mandate it’s Gender Policy that affirms equality of sexes.

The judgement was delivered at the Federal High Court, Maitama, Abuja, before Hon. Justice Donatus Okorowo. Active citizens! join us in calling on the National Assembly to also keep its promise of reviewing the 5 gender bills to amend the Constitution.Don't know who represents you? Correction

Our #RSVP Newsletter shared yesterday, Thursday April 7, 2022, wrongly ascribed the quote “political debates are like job interviews and persons who want to contest elections must show up and be well-prepared to tell the electorates how they intend to govern, if elected” to Mrs Jumoke Oduwole. The statement was made by Janet Brown, the Executive Director of the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD), during her keynote speech at our 12th Anniversary symposium. We apologise for the error.

Have a great weekend! The EiE Nigeria Team
