You Heard It Here First!

“The greatest danger to Nigeria today is the inaction of those who should serve and save it.”

Olusegun Obasanjo

(Former President of Nigeria)

Dear Active Citizen

,

Drum roll!!!!!!If there is one thing that this government has done well, here it is.We are excited to share with you today that the federal government has finally agreed to return the fuel pump price to 85 naira per litre.

As much as this story is a joke, we wish that it is true. We particularly wish that all of the unpleasant events that happened over the course of the week are unreal. Sadly, we are living this nightmare and it shows no signs of abating.

Justice First!

Residents of the Lekki Peninsula Phase 1 and active citizens in Lagos State have shown displeasure at the government’s intent to resume toll collection. Recall that tolling was suspended after the unfortunate event of October 20, 2020, when soldiers opened fire on national anthem-singing and flag-waving youths who were calling for an end to police brutality. The residents had written an open letter to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu spotlighting cogent reasons why reopening the toll at this time is insensitive. Some of the points raised include the current socio-economic situation of the country, unresolved issues relating to #EndSARS (justice for #EndSARS victims), etc.Despite the death threats and online bullying of some frontliners and active citizens involved in this protest, we will not keep silent until justice is served. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, justice first!

What is The Life Of A Nigerian Citizen Worth?

Less than 24 hours after an Abuja - Kaduna train was attacked by terrorists leading to the death of at least 9 people, the injury of many others and the kidnapping of an unconfirmed number, another attack was carried out at Gidan train station.

Underneath the anger that this unfortunate event has generated, lies the lessons to be learned - we cannot afford to elect the wrong the wrong candidates for president, 29 state governors, 109 Senators, 360 members of the House of Representatives and almost 1,000 State House of Assembly members in 2023.Register for your PVC and vote in competent leaders during the forthcoming elections!
