Dear Active Citizen,

Are you aware that local government (LG) elections will be held in Lagos and Ogun States tomorrow, July 24th?

If you are resident in these States, are you ready to vote? 

Have you gone through the manifestos of the candidates? Are you selecting a credible, competent, and compassionate candidate? 

Your decision tomorrow will set the course for the development of your respective local governments.

Your local government is the third tier of government and the closest to you. They are constitutionally responsible for the provision and maintenance of primary health care services; construction of rural roads & markets; and nursery, primary and adult education among others. It is interesting how most citizens, tend to hold both the federal and state governments accountable with little or no focus on the LGs.

EiE is fixing this with the #MyLGA project which is aimed at, ensuring active citizens' participation in local governance.

It was piloted in Ebonyi and Zamfara States in 2020 and the project has been extended to cover additional 3 states - Niger, Ondo, and Yobe.
