For democracy to work, the people must be empowered to participate in the process, and the process must be transparent, credible, and free from manipulation.

Dear {{First name|Active Citizen}},

From Anambra, Ebonyi, Nasarawa, Ondo, and Yobe – and most recently, Ekiti – the #myLGA journey continues to grow stronger. At every stop, we’ve seen how powerful it is when citizens, community groups, and duty bearers come together to demand accountability at the grassroots.

Now, we’re excited to announce that Osun has joined the #myLGA map, in partnership with Kimpact Development Initiative (KDI).

In Osun, the project will spotlight the state of local governance and the ongoing local government crisis. Through civic education radio programs, direct engagement with stakeholders, and grassroots sensitisation, citizens will be equipped with tools to demand accountability where it matters most.

As our Deputy Executive Director (Programs), Ufuoma Nnamdi-Udeh, puts it:

The #myLGA Project continues to grow because the demand for transparent and accountable governance is universal. Osun is a vital part of this journey, and by working with citizens, civil society, and local leaders, we hope to show once again that informed and active citizens can reshape governance from the ground up.

Do you care about governance in Osun? Are you in or from Osun State? Stay engaged with #myLGA and let’s hold leaders accountable together. For more information or inquiries, reach us at [email protected].

Know Your Rep!

We’re still filling in the gaps for State Houses of Assembly and Local Government officials. Right now, we’ve updated Assemblies in 7 states and LG officials in 5 states. That leaves plenty of blank spaces we’d love your help to complete.

Here’s how you can pitch in:

  1. If you know your Assembly member’s correct phone number, office address, or social media handle - send it our way.

  2. If you can confirm details of your Local Government chair, we’d love to have that too.

  3. Email us directly at [email protected] with any verified info you have.

  4. And even if you don’t have new info, you can still help by spreading the word. The more Nigerians who use ShineYourEye, the stronger and more reliable the platform becomes.
