#NigeriaMourns National Day of Mourning
"Tomorrow’s victims would be today’s survivors. Those who have died would not die again. The next set to be killed would be from those of us alive. So it’s in all our interest to take a stand against this menace''.
Aisha Yesufu (Activist)
Dear Friend, As we enter the final hours into the National Day of Mourning & Remembrance, the actions of every single person and organization counts. In honour of the more than 3,000 persons who have died across the country this year alone, we request your active participation in the symbolic actions we will undertake. We ask that you lead and get your staff, colleagues and the communities you serve to take simple actions like: 1) Black: Wear black & get your colleagues / staff to do same. Take pictures & share online. 2) Poster: If possible, print the poster below and place in front of your office or on your desk! 3) Silence at Noon: If you have names for those who have died in your state, read them out & say a prayer! 4) Flag: If you have a flag, fly it at half-mast. 5) Hashtags: Use them generate awareness:
#NigeriaMourns #NationalDayOfMourning #OneDeathTooMany #WeAreAllWeHave
6) Solemn Assemblies: Join one in your area.
