ECOWAS Ruling & Upcoming Protests

The ECOWAS Court on July 10, 2024, found the Nigerian government guilty of human rights abuses during the #EndSARS protests. Yep, you heard that right!

What's the Deal?

💰 Each victim gets ₦10 million in compensation.
🚫 The Court said the government went too far at Lekki Toll Gate.
🔍 Nigeria has to investigate what happened and report back.

This is huge for human rights in Nigeria! It shows that peaceful protests matter and governments can be held accountable. Next month, August, will see a protest demanding better leadership and accountability - #EndBadGovernance. The government must demonstrate its commitment to implementing the ECOWAS Court's ruling and upholding the right to peaceful assembly.
