Reflections: The EiE Impact Report 2020

Monday, November 1, 2021

“A nation is great not by its size alone. It is the will, the cohesion, the stamina, the discipline of its people and the quality of their leaders which ensure it an honourable place in history."- Lee Kuan Yew(First Prime Minister of Singapore, 1959-1990)

Dear Friend,From noble and unplanned beginnings triggered by the failings of the then Yar'adua Government in 2010, we have grown in capacity to influence a new crop of Nigerians tired of the systemic decadence and eager to rebuild the only nation we can proudly call home. The EiE Impact Report 2020 chronicles our footprints, in numbers and unforgettable milestones that have among other things, made young Nigerians realise that they have a powerful voice. From capturing and analysing elections at various levels to educating citizens extensively, using mainstream and new media/digital tools; creating initiatives to bring the government at all levels closer to the people; developing compelling infographics & articles on topical issues such as COVID-19 and #EndSARS that have been widely published, and tracking missing persons across the country, EiE has continually steered critical campaigns and conversations on national and continental platforms towards redefining the Nigerian narrative.

We believe that a great Nigeria, defined by accountability, active citizens and good governance is possible but not without each one of us owning our individual and collective roles towards achieving the Nigerian dream. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to all who have been a part of our journey and in one way or another, contributed to the production of this Impact Report.

As the remaining off-cycle gubernatorial elections (Anambra - November 6, 2021, Ekiti - June 18, 2022, and Osun - July 16, 2022) steadily approach, we can do more with your support! Please donate.

In the words of Indian writer, author and philanthropist, Rohini Nilekani, “We cannot be mere consumers of good governance, we must be participants; we must be co-creators.”God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
