TIMES MAGAZINE NAMES NGOZI OKONJO IWEALA AMONG 100 MOST INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE IN THE WORLD

Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Director General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), has been named as one of Times magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2021. She is the only honouree from Nigeria, in a list that cuts across five categories: Titans, Pioneers, Artists, Leaders and Icons.Other Africans in this year’s list include Felwine Sarr, Sara Menker, Phyllis Omondi, Angelina Kidjo, and John Nkengasong. 

She is indeed a trailblazer! Congratulations!

PRESIDENT BIDEN APPOINTS JOHN DABIRI AS A MEMBER OF THE U.S ADVISORY COUNCIL ON SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Meet Dr John Dabiri, a Nigerian-American who has been appointed as a member of the United States Advisory Council on Science and Technology.According to his profile published by the White House, John is an engineer who “designs next-generation wind turbines with the potential to reduce cost, size, and environmental impacts while maximizing the amount of electricity generated."Congratulations John!

STERLING BANK LAUNCHES FREE BANKING PRODUCT FOR NONPROFITS

To commemorate the International Day of Charities, Sterling Bank launched a new banking product called C.A.R.E.S for Nigerian nonprofits. The first of its kind, this banking service aims to help nonprofits save up more resources to scale up impact.It will allow nonprofits to operate their corporate accounts without an account maintenance fee and grant them full online banking services.Indeed, this is a landmark innovation and we hope other banks will follow!
