“This anniversary is more than a celebration; it is a strategic convening of the very pillars that hold our society together.”
Opeyemi Adamolekun
(Executive Director, EiE Nigeria)
Dear {{First name|Active Citizen}},
What a truly unforgettable event! Whether you were with us in the room or supporting us from afar, Footprints and Frontlines was a celebration filled with inspiration, creativity, and connection.
From the thought-provoking speaker sessions featuring Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Emir of Kano, Fola Adeola, Jude Abaga (MI), Bishop Matthew Kukah and Omobola Johnson, to the lively music break with the incredible Zadok, every moment had its own magic.
One of the highlights of the day was the launch of the second edition of our book "Footprints: Past. Present. Future" - a milestone that celebrates the stories, lessons, and impact that have shaped our journey. It provided an opportunity to honour the late Christopher Kolade, who wrote the foreword. His foreword, Nation Building – A Relay Race For Succeeding Generations, was read by a 3-generational cast: Ladipo Adamolekun, an Author and Professor of Public Administration; Modupe Animashaun, Director of Training, Lagos State; and Victoria Oladipo, an Active Citizen representing Gen Z.
It costs N30,000 per copy, and you can pre-order here - Deliveries commence in early February 2026.
In addition, our Cartoon Exhibition by Mike Asukwo, supported by BusinessDay sparked conversation and reflection, bringing creativity and commentary to life in a way only art can.
We captured some of these moments and are thrilled to share them with you. Relive the highlights here bit.ly/EiEat15Preview.
We were also proud to premiere our short film, One Voice, Many Echoes, a powerful story that traces three eras of active citizenship: from the Concerned Professionals of 1993, who were voices of courage during the military years, to #EnoughisEnough in 2010, making a clarion call in uncertain times with a missing president and the #EndSARS movement in 2020, which was a generation’s stand against injustice. The short film also captured some of EiE’s enduring impact over the years. We were honoured to have four Concerned Professionals in the room! Atedo Peterside, Pat Utomi, Tola Mobolurin & Seun Mabogunje.

This film reflects the heart of what we do as an organisation and celebrates the courage, resilience, and voices of those who have shaped civic engagement in Nigeria. We’ll be going live on YouTube soon, and you’ll be the first to know! Stay tuned, you won’t want to miss it!

Finally, I announced a change in leadership at EiE, as Ufuoma Nnamdi-Udeh takes over as Executive Director effective January 2026.

It has been a privilege to steward EiE over the last 14 years and I am really looking forward to how Ufuoma, Emmanuel & the Team increase our impact.
Thank you once again for your support, your energy, and your belief in what we do.
