#WhereIsBuhari: Buhari Misses 3rd FEC Meeting
President Buhari was unable to attend the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting for the third consecutive time on Wednesday, May 3rd. In absence of President Buhari, the meeting was chaired by Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.The Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed said Mr President missed the 3rd FEC meeting because he was obeying his doctor’s advice to rest. This has raised concerns about President Buhari’s actual state of health especially in carrying out his day to day duties as President. The President was however available to attend Jumat Service today.

#OpenNASS: Ministerial Confirmation & Electronic Voting
The Senate on Wednesday, May 3rd confirmed Professor Stephen Ikani Ocheni (Kogi) and Suleiman Zarma Hassan (Gombe) as ministers using voice voting. One of the 5 demands of #OpenNASS is using electronic voting. The electronic voting system was used for the first time by the 8th Senate to confirm the appointments of Ejembi Eko and Amina Augie as Justices of the Supreme Court in October 2016.Why didn’t they use electronic voting to confirm the 2new ministers?Over 9,000 Nigerians have signed the petition demanding for an #OpenNASS. Class Action: Unmetered Customers & Estimated Billing
Following the failure of the Eko and Ikeja Electricity Distribution Companies to meter their customers and halt estimated billing, a Lagos-based consumer rights lawyer, Olumide Babalola, has filed a class action suit at the Lagos State High Court on behalf of unmetered customers.
The case was mentioned on Thursday, 4th May 2017 and Justice A. M. Lawal has fixed hearing for Friday, July 14th 2017.

INEC Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) Continues
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) continued nationwide continuous voters’ registration exercise. In the first three days of the exercise, 57, 737 people were registered, while 4, 913 others collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). A further 1,820 individuals applied for transfer of Polling Units (Pus) and 1,117 persons applied for replacement of their lost or damaged PVCs.Be reminded that this CVR is meant for:
Nigerians who are 18 years and above and who were not previously registered.
Those who previously registered but whose names cannot be found in the register of voters.
Those who have lost or damaged their cards and would like to replace them.
Visit INEC office at your local government secretariat to register.

2nd Volunteer Day in 2017
Our second Volunteer Day for 2017 took place last Saturday. It was a big success!
Volunteers came out to support our advocacy campaign. Citizens in South – South and South – East region were engaged and educated on #OpenNASS campaign via phone conversation.A big thank you to all our volunteers!
