20 Years of Democracy
Wednesday, May 29th marked 20 years of uninterrupted democracy in Nigeria as President Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in for a second term and 12 newly elected & 17 re-elected governors were also sworn into office across the country.We have come a long way and we still have a long way to go.

Citizens came out in large numbers across the country to join the National Day of Mourning and Remembrance organized by Joint Nigeria Crisis Action Committee (JN-CAC) on Tuesday, May 28th.There were activities in Bauchi, Edo, Ekiti, Enugu, Kwara, Imo, Lagos, Nasarawa, Niger, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, and Zamfara states.Every Nigerian life must count irrespective of religion or tribe!

PMB Signs 2019 Budget
Finally, the 2019 budget at
N8.916 trillion
was
signed by President Buhari on Monday, May 27th.
The President, however, noted that the budget is N90 billion higher than what he presented to the National Assembly on December 19, 2018. The
new allocations include N23 billion for payment of severance package for members of the National Assembly;
allowances for incoming legislators and their legislative aides without consulting the executive.
Over 1,200 active citizens have shown interest to join SERAP, EiE and BudgIT to file a lawsuit to challenge the legality of N4.68 billion ‘Welcome Package’ for members of the 9th National Assembly.What are you waiting for? Click to join the suit.
