National Day of Mourning

The level of impunity and frequency of killings in Nigeria in recent times is a source of grave concern to citizens.  We demand that this dehumanization of Nigerian lives must stop. Join us for the National Day of Mourning & Remembrance on Monday, May 28th to remember all victims of violent killings across the country.

It will be marked by a series of symbolic actions which include:

  • Mourning at Unity Fountain Abuja

  • All should wear black

  • Name calling ceremony to honor the dead

  • Flag flown at half-mast

  • Solemn assemblies at 11:45am with a minute of silence

  • Trading activities to stop for 5 minutes at 12 noon.

Visit for more details.
