Birthed from a historic protest on March 16, 2010, EiE Nigeria continues to advocate for active citizenship and public accountability of our elected officials to administer our common wealth for our common good.We have made significant progress in our campaigns to build a generation of active citizens at the level of engagement in 2017 is much better than when we started in 2010.However, we cannot do it alone. Audu Maikori and the Kaduna State Government

Music entrepreneur and #RSVPAmbassador, Audu Maikori, was charged with Section 24 of the Cybercrime Act on Monday, March 13th. His next court date is April 20th.EiE, PIN and Media Rights Agenda have been in court since 2016 to repeal the Act. Our next court date is April 26th. We have chronicled the events here.

Office of the Citizen in Action in Kenya

Despite intimidation and arrest by security operatives, the dedication and commitment of

in Kenya remains undaunted on reducing their elected officials’ salaries.

Their continuous activism on the streets and online eventually brought about desired outcome when Kenyan President, Uhuru Kenyatta during the State of the Union address on March 15

, said the elected officials’ salaries, including his, must be cut in half.

‘Yemi Adamolekun of EiE, Seun Onigbinde of BudgIT and 12 entrepreneurs had earlier written an open letter to the Central Bank governor, demanding for his resignation, due to CBN’s foreign exchange policies which have grossly affected the economy. The letter appeared in Vanguard on Monday, February 27th.You can also donate towards the publication of the letter in other newspapers HERE.
