Season of Resignation in Africa

South Africa’s embattled president, Jacob Zuma has finally resigned after several allegations of corruption. Cyril Ramphosa was elected by the South African Parliament dominated by ANC as the new president.

Ethiopia’s Prime Minister, Hailemariam Desalegn who announced his resignation after leading the country for over 5 years. His resignation is due to the political unrest in the country. He will stay on as Caretaker Prime Minister until the ruling Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) choose a successor.
