Justice Abdul Aboki of the Abuja Court of Appeal nullified the election of Attai Aidoko and ordered him to vacate the Kogi East Senatorial seat. He held that Senator Aidoko was not the rightfully elected candidate at the 2014 National Assembly primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The court consequently ordered that the sum of one million naira be paid by Attai Aidoko to Isaac Alfa whom the court held to be the lawfully nominated candidate of the PDP.
