End Taxpayer-Funded Luxury for our Lawmakers
Dear ,Thank you for joining the class action suit to challenge the proposed plan by the 9th Senate to spend N5.55 billion on new luxury cars at N50m each for 109 senators.SERAP, EiE and BudgIT filed a suit at the Federal High Court, Lagos on Friday, August 30th. Below are frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the lawsuit: What happens when judgment doesn't favour us at the Federal High Court? We proceed to the Appeal Court and then the Supreme Court. What if damages are awarded against us? The only consequence remotely possible will be payment of court-ordered cost - which will be borne by the lead plaintiffs - SERAP, EiE and BudgIT. What has happened to previous cars used by the 8th assembly? It will form part of the issues of fact in the suit. Do we have to appear in court? If yes, please let's know when. Applicants need not appear in Court but may choose to attend court proceedings when we give updates of date and time. Any financial implications? or donations needed?
